Following up on the rumors posted on GotFrag forums about the possibility of a CGS online league for Counter-Strike being in the formative stages, GotFrag's Editor-in-Chief Mark Cheben posed the question of the rumors legitimacy to CGS Commissioner Andy Reif during the CGS World Finals press conference.

According to Reif, CGSO also known as CGS Online plans to embrace the Counter-Strike community with online content, as well as competitions. Those competitions will be for both CS:Source and CS:1.6.

Reif went on to state that while Counter-Strike: Source is great for television, they see 1.6 as a part of the online component as well.

Details are coming out by the minute and updates will be posted as soon as they are revealed.

vi en la pagina http://www.thecgs.com las reglas para cs:s y son diferentes a las tradicionales lo cual hace q cambien mucho las strats

Counter-Strike: Source

Online Event Rules

Just as in traditional Counter-Strike 1.6, our Counter-Strike: Source matches will be played five vs. five, with both teams taking turns defending and attacking strategic positions, called bombsites. The CGS rule set, however, puts a brand new spin on gameplay by shortening each round to 1 minute and 20 seconds, shortening each period to only nine rounds, maximizing first-round start money, and introducing a one-round sudden-death overtime. This unprecedented match format will introduce a whole new level of gaming intensity and create an unparalleled Counter-Strike spectator experience.

* Round time 1 minute, 20 seconds (not the traditional 1 minute, 45 seconds)
* Nine-round periods (not the traditional 15 rounds per period)
* Each player will receive $16,000 start money (not the traditional $800)
* One round sudden-death overtime (not the traditional 3 rounds)
* Matches protected by anti-cheat technology
